Before the session

Clear the Space:

Declutter the spaces in your home with the best natural light (typically living room, nursery and/or master bedroom). Remove any distracting items or unnecessary objects from the background.

Set the Temperature:

Newborns are sensitive to temperature, so make sure it is comfortably warm. This will help keep your baby stay content during the session, especially if they're going to be undressed or swaddled for some shots.

Gather Props and Accessories:

If you have any special props you'd like to include in the photos, such as blankets, hats, headbands, or sentimental items gather them beforehand and have them ready for the session.

Decide what to wear:

Typically neutral, comfortable clothing is best. For suggestions and inspiration take a look at my style guide on Pinterest here.

Feed the Baby:

Plan to feed your baby shortly before the session to ensure they're well-fed and content. A full belly can help lead to a sleepy/cooperative baby, which makes for easier posing.

DURING THE SESSION

STAY FLEXIBLE:

Newborns may need extra breaks for feeding, changing, or soothing during the session. Don't stress (or try not to) if things don't go exactly as planned. The session typically lasts between 90 minutes - 2 hours to allow for breaks if your baby needs to feed or be soothed.

ENJOY THE PROCESS:

Enjoy the experience of capturing these precious early moments of your baby's life. And don't worry if your baby isn't fully cooperative during your session, I promise we'll get plenty of images that you'll cherish forever!

AFTER THE SESSION

CELEBRATE!:

In the early days I know how stressful it can be with your newborn. After, the session take time to celebrate baby's first photo session!

REVIEW YOUR PHOTOS:

I will send your gallery preview with two weeks of the session. Select your favorites or upgrade to the whole gallery.

ORDER PRINTS:

Once you've selected your photos, consider ordering prints or creating photo albums to preserve the memories. You are able to order prints and other products right from your gallery.

SCHEDULE YOUR BABY'S MILESTONE SESSIONS:

First year milestone photo sessions are a wonderful way to document your baby's growth and development during their first year of life.
